In order to get the perfect concealer to match your skin tone, Carl suggests you blend two concealers. In Serenchi’s case he made use of Yardley Coverflage Concealer in Medium and Dark. The Yardley Stayfast Foundation in Toast was then applied. Carl used the Coffee colour from the Single Eyeshadow range over the whole lid and then blended it out towards the temples. The Kohl Eye Pencil in Sable was then applied the top lash line. Caramel Single Eyeshadow was applied underneath the brow bone to highlight the bones and this was finished off by sexy 60’s inspired Precision Liquid Eyeliner. For Serenhis’s lashes Carl used the 3D Fibre Lash Extension Mascara. The fibres in this mascara lengthen each lash individually for a beautiful false lash effect.

Carl started with Coverflage Concealer in Dark to hide any discolouration. Yardley Stayfast Foundation in Mocca was then applied, followed by Yardley Pressed Powder in Mocca. Foundation that isn’t powered tends to disappear so it is very important to use a powder in a corresponding colour to fit the foundation. Carl then covered the lid from crease line to lash line in Stayfast Single Eyeshadow in Carbon Black. Yardley Eyeliner in Black was applied on the top lash line and all the way inside the lid. This helps to hold the shape of the eye without having obvious black lines over the eyes.

Yardley Single Eyeshadow in Coffee was used in the tear duct of the eye and also on the lid to lighten up the eyes. On the brow bone the colour Caramel, also in Stayfast Single Eyeshadows, was applied. The bone colour make up highlights the face wonderfully and the jewelled texture looks gorgeous on ethnic skin. Several layers of Lash Lustre Mascara were then applied. Yardley Supermoist Lipstick in Evening Coral was used on Thembi’s lips, this hydrating lip-gloss keeps lips gorgeous and shiny.

Carl started with Yardley Line Minimizer Primer, this layer is applied after you have moisturized and prepares the skin for a wonderful flawless foundation. Carl then used Coverflage Concealer in Medium to cover up any discolouration. According to Carl your concealer should never be two to three shades lighter than your skin tone. To set the foundation, Carl finished off with Matt Mediterranean Powder. Two lighter colours were used on Melissa’s eyelids: Stayfast Single Eyeshadow Salt & Pepper, to shade her crease line and Stayfast Single Eyeshadow Milkshake to highlight the brow bone and inside of her lid. Carl then applied several layers of Lash Burst Mascara to complete the look.

To compliment her eyes further Carl used the Navy Blue Retractable Pencil that he applied on the lash bed and then smudged by using the sponge tip at the end of the pencil.

For Melissa’s extremely hot lips Carl used Claret Lip Liner to shape the lips and then filled it with Colour Rush Lipstick called Revolution Red. When applying red lips always use a brush to ensure precision.

Carl’s quick and foolproof system for sexy smoky eyes starts with the Yardley Stayfast Eyeshadow in Purple. This product has amazing colour payoff that lasts over 16 hours. Carl then covered Shelly’s entire top lid from lash to crease line. Then added a Carbon Black Yardley Stayfast single eyeshadow into the outer corner and finished it off with a sweep just under the eye. Carl used Black Yardley Retractable eyeliner all the way inside of the eye and also on top of the lash line. This makes the lashes look longer. Finally Carl applied Yardley Lash Lustre Mascara, which contains growth-enhancing peptide to create the illusion of false lashes. A smoky eye always looks best when three or four shades are used. Carl then used the Plum Retractable Pencil on the inside of the lids to soften out the black and purple.

Carl started with Yardley Line Minimizer, this product fills in any unevenness so that foundation goes on smoother. Yardley Coverflage Concealer was then applied. Do not use too much foundation to try and hide dark circles, rather use your concealer effectively before applying foundation. Carl then used Yardley Uplift Maxx Foundation in True Beige. Yardley Absolute Translucent Loose Powder was used to finish off the foundation. To avoid moisture loss, powder should always go onto the hand first and then pressed into the skin. To ensure you have the right colour concealer to suit your skin type, Carl suggests you try out three or four in store and test the colour in natural light.
